Organic agriculture is one of the three main directions of agricultural development in Poland?

It is a farming system of sustainable crop as well as livestock production. It means using only bio-based inputs, which reduces dependence on external inputs. It is also referred to as biological or organic farming. Among its basic assumptions is the mimicking of processes occurring in natural ecosystems. Characteristic is the production in a closed cycle: soil - plant - animal.

An important element is also the selection of plant species for the crop rotation, which should be as diversified and extensive as possible. Its role is to reduce pests and weed infestation by applying crop breaks in the same field.

In organic farming, plant protection methods that have a direct impact on reducing the incidence of diseases are particularly important. This includes the choice of sowing date and cultivation treatments that are unfavourable to disease development. In addition, the deployment of traps and catch boards, as well as covering plants with covers during times of increased pest incidence. Every farmer knows that the use of lightweight non-woven fabrics is also of considerable importance here. Why? By spreading them around the plants, weed growth is prevented, making it much easier to grow plants in an organic way. It should be mentioned at this point that organic farming can be regarded as a philosophy of the land. In order to produce a healthy, nutritious product, a lot of work needs to be put into it. There is no room here to support cultivation with chemical pesticides, there are no shortcuts. Organic production under supervision is a great challenge as well as a risk, but the final result is far different from what is not 'green leaf’ certified.

One can talk endlessly about organic farming. But its main focus is undoubtedly high quality. Before it goes on sale, it successively passes through the farm inspection system. And a good quality product is the best gift for consumers.
